WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE, DURING & AFTER A PERMANENT MAKEUP PROCEDURE

PERMANENT MAKEUP PRE-PROCEDURE CARE- Avoid caffeine prior to procedure. Caffeine is a stimulant.
- Getting a procedure during your period can make you hyper-sensitive.
- Zovarix (a prescription drug) or L-Lysine (over the counter) is recommended if you have a history of cold sores. Start one week prior to lip procedure.
- Check with your physician prior to procedure if you have severe diabetes, hepatitis, or heart problem.
PERMANENT MAKEUP POST-PROCEDURE CARE- Antiseptic color sealant needs to be applied to the treated area a minimum of ten (10 ) times a day for five (5) days.
- Once or twice a day, cleanse the area with a wet clean cotton pad (water only) and gently wipe area, then reapply sealant. Do not scrub with a wash cloth as this can cause color loss and/or infection.]
- Do not swim, soak in hot tubs or bathtubs for 7-10 days after procedure. This will lower risk of infection.
- Do not use any make-up in or around the treated area for at least 7 days after procedure. This will lower risk of infection.
- Do not pick, scratch or touch the treated area, this will cause loss or color or infection.
- Do not use on or close to tattoed area: Exfoliators (scrubs), Anti-aging/AHA products (Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic, Retinol, Fruit acids, clay products, etc.) ALWAYS USE SUNSCREENS DAILY and/or hat/visors when in prolonged sun exposure. This will help prevent premature fading.

PRE/POST CARE AND SPECIFIC TECHNIQUES WILL VARY FROM TECH TO TECH. THIS IS MEANT TO BE A GENERAL GUIDELINE.WHAT IS INVOLVED IN PERMANENT MAKEUP RECOVERY?There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin, which will subside quickly. Tenderness is expected, but slight bruising and irritation may sometimes occur. The area treated will appear much darker and more defined than the final result after healing. It will look much softer 5-6 days depending how fast your skin heals. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.
EYEBROWS-will be tender for 1-2 days, appear dark for 5-6 days, then dramatically soften up to 50%. Fresh powder may be used to soften during the healing process.
LIP COLOR – This area will take longer to heal. The color will be extremely bright for 7-8 days then fade to no color and reappear after 3-6 weeks.
